Life is like a race against ourselves to allow ourselves to be a success. The only hurdles I can see are created by my own thoughts or self perceived limitations. Better loosen the reigns.
Entity view of ability: I didn't realize that there were two views regarding the concept of ability. The entity view suggests that ability is an innate birthright that exists apart from and can't be changed through effort or increased understanding and effort. I decided to buy into the opposite theory, the incremental view of ability.
Legitimate peripheral participation: I would sum up legitimate peripheral participation with the old adage "giving it your all". The term describes a state of being fully committed to the goal or task being tackled by a group despite one's shortcomings.

Mastery goal- A personal goal that wants to improve your abilities and learn without regards to performance.
